Like our emotions, we are able to concentrate on our own mental abilities. We like things to make sense to us. The world offers philosophies and “isms” for us to try to guide our thoughts and decisions. Yet the world’s messages promote self and private ability and attainment. Despite how clever they appear on the surface, they shift our trust to ourselves as a substitute of the Bible and the Spirit. God’s truth comes from one other realm, heaven, and it humbles us with its mystery.
We must submit our intellect to faith and the Spirit, or else turn out to be slaves. “See to it that nobody takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, in line with human tradition, in line with the fundamental spirits of the world, and never in line with Christ.” (Colossians 2:8) Worldly philosophies sound intelligent, and the world celebrates them. At the identical time, academia often mocks faith and God’s miracles. However, these worldly philosophies are lifeless and empty other than Christ, resulting in pride and logical contradiction, as shifting the inspiration to emotion.
God must select to disclose himself, and when he does, our minds are renewed. Our very pondering changes to the everlasting perspective, healing our heart, giving us security, and fascinating our intellect in the proper way. Submitting our intellect to the Spirit doesn’t dismiss our mind but redeems it. We then grow within the mind of Christ, which aligns along with his whole character, and we gain insights, strength, peace, and hope. We grow wholistically in God’s born-again image in us.
