5 Ways to Clean Your Home and Heart This Spring

As you’re cleansing, it might be time to create or recreate some sacred spaces in your private home. If you don’t have a special place to hope and spend time with Jesus, make one. Or if the place you may have isn’t an appropriate space since it’s too small or noisy, search for a more appropriate place. Here are some suggestions for making a sacred space, even if you happen to don’t have one.

-Choose the appropriate location and bear in mind issues like space and noise.

-Declutter and cleanse. If you may have an area, dust well and eliminate all of the clutter. If it’s a latest or renewed space, plan on keep it clutter-free.

-Choose decor to reflect calm and connection.

-Add some natural elements.

-Create comfort with throw pillows and blankets

-Incorporate inward-focused activities like a journal, yoga mat, or altar with candles.

-Set the mood with lighting.

-Maintain your space and rejuvenate it often.

-Embrace flexibility.

Incorporating Scripture into Your Cleaning Rituals

Some verses to include into your cleansing rituals are;

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as if you’re working for the Lord slightly than for people. Remember that the Lord gives you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you’re serving is Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24, NLT)

“Create in me a latest heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit inside me.” (Psalm 51:10, NLT)

“But be certain all the pieces is completed properly and so as.” (1 Corinthians 14:40, NLT)

“She rigorously watches over all the pieces in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.” (Proverbs 31:27, NLT)

You can study these before you clean and reflect on them as you go about your routine.

Involving Family in Faith-Based Cleaning

Spring cleansing isn’t about only one person doing it. Get your entire family involved and clean out as much clutter as you possibly can. Here are some ways to start.

-Set your intentions as a family, each practically and spiritually.

-Create a cleansing plan with a theme. For example, in case your theme is charity, have everyone undergo their belongings and judge what is going to stay and what can be used to bless others.

-Assign roles and responsibilities in order that the younger kids can tackle their rooms and toys while older kids can tackle the garage or basement.

-Incorporate breaks and prayer by taking breaks and praying together.

-Make it fun and interesting by adding music, snacks, and drinks.
