A prayer to be a peacemaker: “Dear God, I would like to be an instrument of your peace on this broken world. Please forgive me for the times I even have contributed to division or held onto unforgiveness. Give me your strength to forgive other individuals who have hurt me, just as you have got forgiven me. Give me wisdom to talk truth with love, to advocate for justice, and to assist vulnerable people. Help me to live in harmony with others and work toward unity slightly than division. Use me to bring your light and your peace into the darkness of our violent world. Help me point people to your great love. Amen.”
A prayer for our world: “Dear God, my heart breaks for the violence and suffering in our world. Please send your comfort and healing to all of the victims of violence, equivalent to children in class shootings, leaders who’re targeted due to their political beliefs, people who find themselves caught up in wars, and more. Help everyone who’s traumatized by violence in any way, just like the families and friends of violence victims, and all of us who struggle with fear by simply living on this violent world. Continue to encourage people to finish conflicts and work for peace. Raise up faithful leaders who will function peacemakers. Reach out to the individuals who commit violence, and help them change into peacemakers in the event that they reply to you. I would like to see your can be done on earth because it is in heaven. In conclusion, violence is common in our fallen world and all of us feel the pain of that violence. Jesus, nonetheless, will empower us to beat this violent world. As we trust and depend on Jesus, we are able to find the peace we’d like, and we are able to share that peace with others who need it. The tragedy of violence is real in our world, however the hope now we have in Jesus is way stronger!
