4 Powerful Prayers to Guide Recent Graduates into God’s Next Step for Their Lives

Starting a latest chapter requires you to have faith. The first step of walking in faith is fear. That sounds crazy, I do know, however it is smart. In Matthew 14:22-27, Jesus’ disciples are in a ship in the course of the ocean, being tossed by the waves. Then they spot an odd image in the space. The image gets closer, they usually understand it’s Jesus approaching them. When Peter recognized Him, he said these words to Jesus, “Command me to return to you on the water” (vs 28).

Their fear was the very first thing they experienced before experiencing a life-changing event: they saw Jesus and Peter walk on water. Peter experienced the miracle in a private way; so long as he kept Jesus, he was in a position to walk on water, but as soon as he looked away at his environment, he sank.  The scripture says, “When he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid…and starting to sink he cried out, ‘Lord save me’” (Matthew 14:30).

Fear is step one of faith, and, identical to Peter, to beat fear, you’ve gotten to repair your eyes on Jesus. If you’re feeling fear when you concentrate on this latest chapter of your life, pray a prayer like this:

A Prayer to Combat Fear

Holy Lord, You are beautiful and loving in all Your ways. All things which can be pure, true, just, noble, trustworthy, praiseworthy…every perfect gift comes from You. Help me to repair my eyes on You, especially after I feel afraid. In those moments, help me look to You through Your word, through prayer, in Your people, and in Your church. In Your name I pray, Amen.
