I remember my first mission trip prefer it was yesterday! But the story began an extended time before. I used to be around 10 years old once I broke my arm in 2 places, and I used to be all the time a little bit of a danger mouse. However, this break was the worst because it needed surgical intervention, three surgeries later in reality. Due to the surgeries, I used to be off from school. I remember watching a morning TV show that exposed to the watcher that there are homes in Romania where little kids don’t have any families. I remember as brazen as ever walking as much as my mam who was preparing dinner and announcing, “One day I might be a missionary”. She did what all good parents did, and replied, “Uh huh pet” and carried on prepping as she didn’t think much of it. Fast forward a complete decade and at 21 years old I got on a plane with my Pastor, and two other people to take my first trip away from home with none of my family. The destination was South Africa, and we stayed in Phalaborwa with an incredible Pastor named Paul and his wonderful family. I cannot convey to you in words what this trip was for me. But in all transparency, the next 12 months I went to Mozambique and stayed with an English Elim Missionary, Gregory and his wife, Sharon, who were amazing. This trip was wonderful, but I got here home very unwell and this led to a shake in my faith. Prayers I prayed before I left my home country of Northern Ireland weren’t even near what I must have been praying!
