Salvation is one other word for adoption—we’re adopted by our Heavenly Father. Think about it this manner: your child will all the time be your child, regardless of what she or he does, right? Even once they’re wayward, they’re still your kids. In the identical way, after we are saved—through faith alone, by grace alone, through Christ alone—we’re adopted into the Heavenly family.
Our Heavenly Father doesn’t disown us after we fail. Oh, He disciplines us, He chastises us, and He brings us back into the fold after we repent, but He doesn’t disown us. That’s the entire idea of being saved.
It’s not only “once saved, all the time saved” as a phrase—it signifies that being saved is being adopted into the family. Now, there are some individuals who pretend to be saved, but they’re not truly saved. That’s why, when others see individuals who appear to undergo the motions after which return to their former life, they are saying, “Oh, which means a one that’s saved can lose their salvation.”
No—they were never saved to start with. I hope this is useful.
