4 Keys to Growing in Grace in Marriage

Finally, growing in grace in marriage requires that you just embrace grace for yourself. Its easy to be hard on yourself if you fall short as a spouse. You might feel such as youre not doing enough or that you justre not measuring as much as your spouse’s and even God’s standards. However, just as youre called to increase grace to your spouse, you should also extend grace to yourself.

Remember, you might be a piece in progress, and Gods grace is sufficient for you. He just isn’t asking for perfection but for a heart that’s willing to grow and learn. When you make mistakes, repent, receive God’s gracious forgiveness, and keep it moving. Even in your mistakes, He is working in you to make you more like Christ.

By embracing grace for yourself, you might be higher capable of extend grace to your spouse. After all, you can’t give what you would not have. Let go of unrealistic expectations and deal with loving one another as you might be, imperfections and all.

Growing in grace in marriage is a lifelong journey. It never ceases. It would require forgiveness, patience, understanding, and repair. It would require you to trust within the Lord and receive his grace to your space. God is with you, guiding you and providing you with the strength and wisdom you wish. He is the source of all grace, and as you depend on Him, your marriage will reflect His love and turn into a sworn statement of His grace to the world.
