3 Tips to Cultivate Thankfulness and 5 Ways to Grow Gratitude

There’s something about receiving a handwritten thanks note that deeply touches the soul. One of my YouTube channel listeners halted me in my tracks, forcing me to catch my breath as a surge of emotion overwhelmed me.

“My husband went to be with the Lord shortly after Thanksgiving. It’s been a rough road, making it hard to chill out and de-stress. I’m so blessed to have found your music. It’s helped me heal during the last three months. Whenever I feel myself sinking into depression, I hearken to your music, and it lifts me up. I praise God on daily basis for leading me to your channel. I’m now in a significantly better place on my journey without my beloved husband.”

Her words pierced my heart in a way that words can hardly express. It was like her gratitude embraced me, flooding me with purpose and humbling me to the core. It caused me to pause and wonder how persistently I missed the chance to bless someone in such a way.

Thanks is at all times in style, whether in person, via text, or via card. It heals the center: “A cheerful heart is sweet medicine“(Proverbs 17:22).

Gratitude, just like the intricate roots of a towering oak, burrows deep into the fertile soil of God’s goodness, anchoring us in His love and nourishing our souls.  Gratitude, a virtue of contentedness, springs from the character trait of godliness (1Timothy 6:6).

Consider how thankfulness draws us closer to God, builds trust in Him, and matures us spiritually.
