God knows the plans He has for us. We don’t. That’s hard. We’ve all experienced the rug pulled out from under our feet because we predict we all know what we all know what’s best for us. We flip out once we don’t get what we wish because we are able to’t see one other way. This biblical truth can pull us back to the fact of our faith once we are shocked and stunned by a loss:
“’For my thoughts usually are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord.” – Isaiah 55:8
When we unexpectedly find yourself in a spot we never expected to be, sit and sob with Jesus. The key to real faith is knowing that we won’t all the time win, and we won’t all the time understand why. Life is tough, but life is nice. To digest that truth, we are able to cling to this one:
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will probably be with you; he’ll neither fail you nor abandon you.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
“No one will give you the option to face against you all of the days of your life. As I used to be with Moses, so I will probably be with you; I won’t ever leave you nor forsake you.” – Joshua 1:5
“Teach these latest disciples to obey all of the commands I even have given you. And make sure of this: I’m with you usually, even to the tip of the age.”- Matthew 28:20
“No, I is not going to abandon you as orphans—I’ll come to you.” – John 14:18
“Keep your lives free from the love of cash and be content with what you will have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:5
