6 Things Your Wife Does NOT Want This Mother’s Day

I actually have a confession…I have very complicated feelings about Mother’s Day.

Yes, I do think it is important to honor those that have helped bring life into this world. Mothers matter, and singing their praises is a noble endeavor, but Mother’s Day is hard. It sets up a variety of expectations that always cannot be met. It focuses totally on one type of mothering role but there are a lot of on this complicated world we live in. It also could be really hard for the countless women who’ve suffered losses, miscarriages, infertility, and more.

On top of all of that, Mother’s Day is hard for our partners. They know they’re alleged to do something for us, but let’s be real: they often struggle to grasp what we want. Not to say the Mom’s often are still those that feel the pressure to purchase gifts or plan outings for his or her Mom, Aunts, Sisters, Mother-in-Law, friends, and more. I’ve noticed that each one I would like for many holidays is the day after the vacation because Mom’s holidays often appear like a ramped-up workday for us. We are hosting, cooking, cleansing, planning, wrapping, and more.

So I’m here to assist clue you in partners, spouses, kids, and family members to what Mom wants by sharing what we actually, really don’t need.
