5 Nourishing Benefits of Less Screen Time

Most of us have shared in the sport of infinite scrolling. As someone who has done this more times than I would really like to confess, it will not be healthy. I never feel glad nor do I feel fulfilled once I spend hours behind my mobile phone screen.

If you’ve also done this, know that you just’re not alone, nevertheless it’s not something you’ve to proceed doing.

You have the alternative to stop spending a lot time behind a screen.

Rather than spending time behind a screen, you may spend it doing belongings you love with people you like. The way we spend our days is ultimately how we are going to spend our life.

If we’re at all times behind a screen every single day for a big period of time, we are going to find yourself spending nearly all of our lives in a digital world as a substitute of the true world. This is something that has not been known to earlier generations since they didn’t live within the technological age we discover ourselves in today.

If you need to start decreasing your screen time, know that it’s going to be helpful to your on a regular basis life. Not only will it allow you to physically, it’s going to also allow you to mentally. By participating in less screen time, you’ll open up your life to doing more things that actually bring you happiness. There will likely be infinite benefits to putting down the phone, turning off the tv, or logging off the pc.

Here are 5 advantages of less screen time:

1. More Time with God

One advantage of less screen time is to have more time with God. Spending time with God is the perfect technique to spend our days. There is not any higher technique to start your day or end your day than with the Lord.

By putting down the phone, you’ll have the opportunity to have uninterrupted time with God. Even though it’s guaranteed that there will likely be many distractions in your day, and your devices could also be calling your name, it’s at all times higher to be intentional about spending time with God.

Spending time behind a screen generally is a type of escapism–a technique to escape what feels overwhelming and scary in our lives. But you don’t have to run away from God or try to flee from Him. He loves you and He wants you to return to Him (Jeremiah 31:3). He doesn’t want you to at all times run away from Him nor does He want you to feel as if you can not come to Him. No matter what you’re going through, know that you may go to God. There is nothing too big for Him, even if you happen to feel it’s.

If you select to proceed to spend time behind a screen slightly than getting involved in life, it’s going to only dampen your life. You won’t have time for God because you’re selecting a screen slightly than Him. Despite the world attempting to drag us to social media for a way of validation and “likes,” it doesn’t truly give us validation or a real sense of being liked.

However, once we turn to God, we’re accepted, validated, and loved.

2. More Time with Loved Ones

A second advantage of less screen time is to spend more time with family members. If you’ve ever noticed if you’re out in public or at a restaurant, most individuals are spending time on their phones slightly than talking with family members.

This is a tragic reality; nonetheless, it’s something that should be addressed. It goes to be more enjoyable and memorable if you happen to decide to be present together with your family members slightly than looking down at your device. Look up slightly than looking down at your phone.

When you consider it, if you happen to spend hours in your phone every day and hours watching television, you’ll gain rather more time to spend together with your family members. Instead of social media, television, or infinite searches on the Internet, you may do something meaningful together with your friends, family, or spouse.

I guarantee you that you just will likely be rather more glad spending time together with your family members slightly than selecting to spend time behind a screen. A life behind the screen will not be the life Jesus died to ensure that us to have (John 10:10).

3. Time to Do the Things You Enjoy

A 3rd advantage of less screen time is to have time to do the belongings you enjoy.

Recently, I even have been attempting to spend less time on my phone as a way to have time for creativity. Creativity was something that I even have lost through the years, yet day-to-day, I’m slowly rediscovering my love for creativity. By spending less time behind a screen, I even have been capable of have more time to interact in artwork, time in nature, and listening to music. All of these items make me much happier than I can be if I selected to be behind a screen with my free time.

While most of us have a desk job or we’ve got to make use of our computer for work, we do have free time after we get off. We don’t need to go on social media or watch television unless we elect to. Rather, we are able to decide to do something different.

Nothing changes unless something changes, and the alternative must be yours. It is perhaps easier to exit of habit and pick up your phone or activate the tv, but attempt to make a change.

Choose to go outside for somewhat bit, do something creative, start a project, learn a skill, spend time with family members, or simply sit and spend a while with God. All of these items are rather more helpful to you as a substitute of spending time behind a screen. Not to say each of these items may even allow you to experience less anxiety and depression.

Always being behind a screen increases your risk for anxiety and depression, which might significantly impact your entire life. Take a break and take time to do belongings you enjoy as a substitute.

4. Happiness Rather Than Comparison

A fourth advantage of less screen time is that you’ll experience more happiness slightly than comparison.

Let’s face it, once we go on social media, we compare ourselves to others. This alone can put us susceptible to depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. When you select to walk away from spending time behind a screen, you will likely be doing a lot better mentally, physically, and spiritually. Even if spending time behind a screen has grow to be a habit, you may break this habit.

You will discover that breaking this habit will allow you to cut down on comparisons and truly allow you to start being more glad with yourself and your life. This will significantly help your life and enable you to live truly for the glory of God. You cannot live the life God has for you if you happen to are at all times comparing yourself to others. A key technique to reduce on comparison is to place down the phone and select to begin living.

5. Hope Instead of Despair

A fifth advantage of less screen time is to have more hope as a substitute of despair. The world, the news, and social media has a way of getting us down and causing despair to rise in our hearts. By taking time away from these items, we are going to quickly find ourselves more filled with hope.

Rather than feeling hopeless or in a state of depression, we are going to begin to feel more glad, hopeful, and satisfied with the life God has given us.

By spending an excessive amount of time behind a screen, we start to lose sight of the entire good things. We start specializing in all of the negatives and this in turn, causes us to doubt God.

While there are bad things that occur on the planet, they aren’t attributable to God. God doesn’t cause bad things. We as sinful human beings cause bad things to occur on the planet. It is nice to recollect this the subsequent time we see a depressing headline—it’s our fault, not God’s fault.

Choose to have hope as a substitute of despair. You can do that by decreasing your screen time or to chop it out altogether.

Our lives are passing us by at a quick rate and before we realize it, years can go by without us realizing it. We need to decide on to be present and reduce on our screen time because it’s going to help us in every area of our life. It will help us to be more present, live more enjoyable lives, and produce God probably the most glory.
