Have I Fallen Behind in Life, or Is This God’s Timing?

Many of us feel far behind in life. We open up different social media channels and see our family and friends getting married, starting a family, and buying their first home. While we could be blissful for our friends, many can compare ourselves to them. This is because we would like to be where they’re in life. If you’ve gotten felt like this, know that you just are usually not alone.

As women, we must always be further along in life than where we currently find ourselves. While that is common, it will not be nice, and it could actually make us feel depressed. I used to be talking to a friend I actually have known since elementary school recently, and he or she was telling me that she felt overwhelmed, stressed, and depressed about life since she wasn’t where she desired to be.

She had seen all her friends get married, but she was the just one in a single relationship, and it didn’t last. Many of us find ourselves in the identical situation, where we regret decisions up to now or grieve our present life. Although many individuals inside the church would make us feel bad for feeling the best way we do, there is no such thing as a reason to beat yourself up to your feelings. Your feelings are valid, no matter what others say or think.

You Are Worthy

If you feel behind in life, I need you to recollect the reality that you just are worthy. You are a part of God’s people, who’re dearly loved (Colossians 3:12). Never forget this truth. It is straightforward to be drowned out by our fears and negative thoughts, but we’ve to fight against this stuff. Feeding into the fears and negative thoughts will only cause you more problems in the long term.

Life is just too short to be spent at war with yourself. You are worthy, you’re dearly loved, and you’re God’s chosen possession. Don’t let anyone or anything let you know otherwise. Your feelings in life are valid, and it’s worthwhile to hold a spot for them; nonetheless, it is usually vital to keep in mind that your life is exclusive. Only you possibly can fulfill the life that God has for you.

In this manner, you are usually not behind in life. You are following the plan God has for you. It might sound as if you’re behind, but you are usually not. Your friends and relations may be doing things you need to do, or they may be in a spot you need to be but know that this stuff will occur in God’s timing. If it’s inside God’s will for this stuff to occur for you, trust within the peace that they may occur.

Don’t Compare Yourself

It can be vital not to match yourself to others. Most of us have been stuck in comparing ourselves to others. This may be very easy in the trendy day on account of social media. We can see the lives of our friends, family, and celebrities with only a touch of the screen. If it might be higher to your mental well-being to take a break from these apps and social media, it may be time to step away.

However, if that will not be doable for you, attempt to speak out loud while you see these posts. Instead of dwelling in your wants and desires, talk out loud. When you see a post of a friend getting married, starting a family, or buying a house, say out loud, “I’m blissful for them. I acknowledge my sadness and feelings of feeling behind in life, and I’ll hold space for them. I trust that God has the proper plan for me and that it’s going to far outweigh any of my hopes and dreams.”

By simply saying these words out loud, it’s going to help redirect your focus. Rather than falling right into a cycle of self-hate and depression, you possibly can consider the positive—God. We often overlook the wonder and majesty of our wonderful Creator. He has great things in store for us, but we must wait for them. Paul reminds us, “However, because it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’—the things God has prepared for individuals who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

As Paul tells us on this passage, God has beautiful things in store for us. Wait on God’s timing and know He is writing a ravishing story to your life. There might be times of pain, suffering, and heartache, but there may also be times of happiness, beauty, and hope. Even when you are only experiencing the previous without delay, rest within the promise that goodness will come. The store could have a break, and light-weight will shine again.

God Has a Unique Plan for Your Life

As mentioned, God has a novel plan to your life that only you possibly can fulfill. Maybe your life won’t look an identical to a friend’s or a member of the family’s, but it surely continues to be your unique and delightful life. Within Christian communities, many individuals imagine that to be blissful, you’ve gotten to be married, have a family, and have a white picket fence. This can be often called the “American dream.” While nothing is improper with wanting to search out the one, get married, and have a snug life, nowhere within the Bible, can we promise this.

Jesus died for us to have an abundant life, but that is abundant life in Him (John 10:10). By knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you’ve gotten already been given all the pieces. These life concerns, comparisons, and challenges may cause us to lose sight of this. Try to deal with all of the blessings you’ve gotten in Christ and know that your relationship with Him will endure without end. The social media posts you see is not going to endure without end.

It can be worthwhile to keep in mind that your folks and family are having their very own struggles. Even though their social media posts might look flawless, it doesn’t mean their life is flawless. They have their struggles, insecurities, and problems, similar to us. Therefore, simply because someone looks like they’re “living the dream” doesn’t mean they honestly are. It is more helpful to take a practical approach and never compare your life to someone’s social media account.

The plan God has to your life is only for you. This may not include marriage, a family, or owning a house, but it surely may be beautiful. It could appear like serving on the mission field, starting an orphanage, or working at an animal rehabilitation center. Your life is exclusive, and God has a ravishing purpose for it. Other things could come later, comparable to a spouse and a family, but do your best to deal with the now and luxuriate in your present life situation.

It is far more enjoyable to search out joy in your life now quite than to take a look at all the belongings you are missing. Take time to search out joy and happiness within the little things you might have neglected for a couple of years. Rediscover joy in this stuff and within the life God has given you. You are usually not behind in life—you’re right on time.
