5 Lies About Motherhood That Are Not Biblical

Aww, motherhood. It’s such a sweet and delightful calling. What a precious and wonderful gift we’re given by the Father to have the opportunity to experience only a glimpse of His unconditional and unwavering love. Being a mother is stuffed with a lot joy and brings forth an abundance of blessings.

Yet, at the identical time, it will possibly also bring about trials that manifest a mixture of emotions that don’t at all times make any sense. Between keeping a house from being overrun with toys to maintaining the peace amongst heated siblings, packing lunches, encouraging playtime over screentime, managing relationships with other relations and friends, together with the countless list of demands, we are able to quickly change into consumed, realizing that motherhood will not be for the faint of heart.

As my precious (and younger) cousin likes to say, there isn’t a “hood” quite like motherhood! But, let’s be honest, we also decide to imagine so many things about this calling. Many of them aren’t even true! Take a take a look at the 2 statements below. Can you tell the reality from the lie?

Motherhood is a sacrifice and time-consuming; it will possibly result in feeling inadequate and a large number of insecurities.

Motherhood is a roadblock in pursuing your dreams. Your purpose is now in step with your kids and their needs.

The first one is true. If you haven’t noticed already, being a mother comes with a price of your time and may easily lead to varied feelings.

The second statement is a lie. Just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you can’t dream and seek after what God plants in your heart, as your only purpose is to glorify Him. The truth is that God doesn’t want us to be bitter moms. He wants us to be higher moms (Ezekiel 16:45).

The truth is that the enemy is loud, cunning, and deceiving. He will twist the reality and make us fall for it, stumbling into this role.

But God whispers truth that sets us free, tenderly reminding us that He knows we’re wrestling with many emotions and insecurities, but He is near and prepared to offer comfort (Isaiah 66:13).

So, let’s seek a few of that comfort and truth today and be daring enough to fight against the flaming arrows that the liar hurls our way. Then arm yourself with truth (Ephesians 6:11-13) because, on this sacred place of motherhood, God has such a gorgeous plan and purpose on your life as His beloved daughter.
